Our beautiful, long stretch of weather came to an end today as rain showers moved in over the area thanks to an upper level low pressure system moving northward from the southeastern U.S.. This upper level low will stick around through the day Thursday, keeping rain showers in the forecast before moving out of the area Friday morning. A cold front and an associated low will move towards the area for the weekend, and will start to spread showers and thunderstorms into the area Friday afternoon. Cooler air, along with the threat of showers, will last later into the weekend.

Weekly Recap, April 28-May 4, 2013
I hope you enjoyed the second half of last week because it was basically perfect weather, which we don't see much of here in central New York. We saw our first 80 degree day of the year on Thursday with nothing but sunshine thanks to a large area of high pressure locked into much of the East Coast.
We'll see a couple more days of sun and warmth to begin this week before we introduce spotty showers and thunderstorms into the forecast. However, temperatures will remain warm which is good news for a lot of people.

Forecast Discussion: The high pressure which has remained in control over the last week will persist and provide us with more beautiful weather. Through the course of the week temperatures will be getting into the upper 60's and lower 70's; except closer to Lake Ontario where a lake breeze could keep the temperatures down a bit. Other than that it will be a picture perfect week so GET OUT and ENJOY THE AWESOME WEATHER headed our way. Stay tuned through the week for updates on this spring forecast!
