Now: Bright sun is being seen this afternoon with pleasantly cool temperatures in the mid-60s. Warmer temperatures are in store for the rest of the week with a decent amount of sunshine. Fall begins at 11:09 PM Wednesday night, but the last afternoon of summer on Wednesday will feature temperatures near 80 degrees !Tonight: Moonlit skies and cold, especially in the North Country and the Catskill Mountains. Lows will drop to around 42 degrees in Syracuse, but 36 to 40 degrees is expected elsewhere. The "warm" spot will be Lake Ontario where temperatures will hold in the mid-40s. Winds will be light and variable. The sunset tonight is at 7:05 PM...definitely check it out if you are in Oswego (as I am) because it will be beautiful over the lake.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny and warmer. Highs will top out in the mid-70s for almost everyone, except in higher elevations where it will hold near 70 degrees. South winds will be 5 to 15 mph. The UV Index will be a 6, which means you can burn in about 35 minutes.
Wednesday: Warm with some hazy sun. There is a 60 percent chance of scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs will approach 80 degrees for the last afternoon of summer ! The autumnal equinox is at 11:09 PM.
Thursday: Mix of sun and clouds for the first day of fall. Highs will be in the pleasant lower to mid-70s.
Friday: The warmest day in about 3 weeks as highs are expected to be around 85 degrees ! Look for hazy sun with a 30 percent chance of evening storms before turning much cooler for the weekend.
