December 21st, 2010 Forecast

Tonight: Gray skies with light snow showers and flurries. Most of us will receive a coating to 1 inch of snow, but 1 to 3 inches is possible in more persistent snow showers. Lows will drop to around 20 degrees with northwest winds 5 to 15 mph. The sunset this evening is at 4:32 PM. There will be a lunar eclipse late tonight beginning at 2:41 AM. However, under overcast skies, I don't think we will be able to view it here in Central New York.

Tuesday: Mainly gray skies with flurries and spotty freezing drizzle likely. You may see some breaks of sun. Highs will be in the mid to upper 20s with northwest winds 5 to 15 mph. The winter solstice is at 6:38 PM.

Wednesday: The chance for flurries, freezing drizzle, and light snow showers remains in the forecast for the first full day of winter. However, it will not be as cold with a high near 33 degrees.

Thursday: There is still a chance for light snow showers and flurries south and southeast of Lake Ontario. High around 31 degrees.
