April 1st, 2011 Forecast

Tonight: A coastal storm should graze the Central New York area with a touch of light snow late tonight through Friday. However, the heaviest snow will be found south and east of Syracuse. Lows tonight will drop to around 32 degrees. Northeast winds will shift from the north 5 to 10 mph. The chance of snow is about 90 percent. The sunset tonight is at 7:29 PM.

Friday: The coastal storm will continue moving through the Central New York area. 0 to 1 inches of snow is expected in Central New York, 1 to 3 inches farther south and east, and 3 to 6 inches over the higher elevations of the Catskill Mountains. This is no April Fools' Joke. The high on Friday will be near 38 degrees...cold for the first day of April. North winds will shift from the north-northwest increasing to 10 to 20 mph. The chance of snow is about 90 percent.

Saturday: Flurries and light snow showers, especially in the morning. There will be a chilly breeze out of the northwest. You may see some breaks of sun in the afternoon. The high will be near 43 degrees. The chance of snow is about 30 percent.

Sunday: Similar to Saturday with morning flurries giving way to some breaks of afternoon sun. The breeze will increase in the afternoon with a high around 45 degrees. The chance of snow is about 20 percent.
