March 9th, 2011 Forecast

Tonight: High clouds. Seasonably cold in Central New York with lows around 20 degrees (the normal low for this time of year is 21 degrees). Winds will be from the east at 3-8 mph. The sunset tonight is at 6:02 PM. Just think...starting Sunday night the sun won't be setting until after 7:00 PM !

Wednesday: Sun gives way to increasing clouds. Becoming breezy in the afternoon and milder with a high near 41 degrees. There is a 30 percent chance of scattered snow showers late in the day. Winds will be out of the east-southeast at 5 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 mph. Wednesday night, expect a combination of snow, sleet, and rain showers for the immediate Syracuse area and the Central and Southern Tiers. However, points north could receive several inches of snow overnight. Stay tuned to CNY Weather for updates.

Thursday: Mild and breezy with rain on and off. The breezy conditions in the morning will diminish slightly in the afternoon. Points north could start the day with a wintry mix or snow but will quickly change over to rain. Localized flooding will be possible with this system. The high on Thursday will be near 42 degrees. The chance of rain is about 60 percent.

Friday: We could see steady rain or snow, or we could see spotty light rain or snow. Expect a high around 38 degrees. The chance of precipitation is about 60 percent.
