Weekly Recap, May 22-28, 2011

Well, there was measurable rainfall in 5 of the 7 days last week, with 1 day still featuring a trace of rain. The 25th, by far, was the best day of the week with highs in the mid-70s under bright sunshine. On the 26th, Syracuse tied the record high of 90 degrees, set just last year in 2010. The 26th also featured severe storms in many parts of the area with damaging wind and hail. Syracuse has now picked up 3.80 inches of rain for the month, which is 0.74 inches above normal. For the year, Syracuse has received 19.27 inches of rain and melted snow, which is 5.08 inches above normal. I don't think we will have any drought concerns around here anytime soon. Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend !
