Weekly Recap, December 11-17, 2011

Last week was a very changeable week.  It started off cool, turned mild, and finished cold.  The wind was the big story Thursday and Friday, and the snow was the big story on Saturday.  The 1 inch of snow that fell on December 17th was the second latest occurring 1 inch snowfall on record in Syracuse (the latest ever was December 22nd, 1998).  That low of 14 on December 17th came just before midnight, and it eventually dropped to 10 degrees early this morning, bringing us our coldest readings of the season so far.  The rural areas outside of Syracuse were in the single digits.  This cold air won't last, however.  We will be back into the 40s for the majority of this week.
