October 30th, 2012 Forecast

Tonight:  Hurricane Sandy will be making landfall this evening somewhere near Atlantic City, NJ.  For us in central New York, it means rain and wind through the night.  Low in the low 50s.  Winds will be out of the northeast at 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph.  On the south shore of Lake Ontario, wind gusts will be between 70 and 80 mph, creating 20 foot waves, so significant damage is possible in places like Oswego and Mexico along the shoreline.  The sunset tonight is at 6:00 PM.

Tuesday:  Rainy, windy.  High in the upper 50s.  Winds will be from the east at 15 to 30 mph and could still gust as high as 60 mph, especially over the higher elevations south/east of Syracuse.

Wednesday (Halloween):  Showers on and off, less wind.  High in the low 50s.

Thursday:  Breezy and cool with more showers.  High near 50.
