December 17th, 2012 Forecast

Forecast Discussion: The weak low pressure which delivered rain, snow, and ice to the Northeast today will be exiting during the overnight. Going into tomorrow we await the approach of another low pressure coming out of the Tennessee Valley. This next system will bring central New York rain from tomorrow evening right through the Tuesday morning commute. Going through Tuesday night into Wednesday, we see the pick of the week. Weak high pressure briefly moves in before a potentially more potent storm system knocks on our doorstep late Thursday lasting possibly into the weekend. The impacts of this system are uncertain at this point as temperatures at the ground and higher up in the atmosphere have recently been way above normal of. The exact track of the low pressure in combination with how much cold air moves in before and during this storm will determine how much snow will fall, if any across the region. Stay tuned for updates later this week as we get closer to this potentially, major upcoming storm!
