High pressure off the east coast of Virginia will help keep southwesterly flow over the area through the day Wednesday, which will result in above normal high temperatures for the day. A weak front will follow overnight Wednesday with a chance of some rain showers, and there could be some very slick spots especially towards evening when temperatures drop below freezing. High pressure will be not far behind and will build in during the day Thursday before our next storm system, which will bring very strong southerly flow (i.e very above average temperatures in the 50s!), moves into the area for the weekend with rain looking likely.
