Weekly Recap, March 10-16, 2013

Last week featured a warm start and a cold finish.  I'm sure many of you got out to enjoy the 60 degree weather one week ago today.  Monday was another mild day at 56 degrees.  Tuesday started off mild in the morning at 56 degrees before falling to around 40 after the passage of a cold front.

Winter quickly returned to central New York by Wednesday when Syracuse received 1.2 inches of snow.  Thursday we got another 1.1 inches, and Friday another 0.3 inches.   The last 3 days of the week were only spent in the low to mid 30s, nearly 30 degrees colder than the beginning of the week.

For the week, Syracuse picked up 2.6 inches of snow, bringing the seasonal total to 89.4 inches.  The average snowfall by this date is 113.1 inches, so we're running 23.7 inches below normal.  The average snowfall for the whole winter in Syracuse is 123.8 inches, so we'll likely end up below average this winter season.
