August 14th and 15th, 2010 Forecast

Now: We are looking at a mix of sun and clouds across Central New York. High temperatures should top out around 82 degrees in Syracuse before the afternoon is finished. There is a 20 percent chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm this afternoon, but most of us will remain dry. Any shower or storm activity that does occur should diminish by the time we move into tonight.

Tonight: Scattered clouds with some patchy fog forming overnight. Low temperatures will range from 56 degrees across the Catskill Mountains to 63 degrees near the Lake Ontario shore. Winds will be out of the south-southeast at 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday: Mix of sun and clouds. It will be the warmest day of the next 7 with a high temperature near 86 degrees in Central New York. It will be cooler to the south and near Lake Ontario with high temperatures only around 80 degrees. Winds will be out of the south at 5 to 15 mph with higher gusts possible at times.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy early with clouds on the increase toward daybreak. Low temperatures will range from 57 degrees across the Catskills to 68 degrees near the lake. Winds will be out of the south-southeast at 5 to 15 mph.

Sunday: Hazy sun, breezy, and more humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms developing, mainly in the afternoon. High temperatures will be in the 79 to 85 range. South winds will be sustained at 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 25 mph. The chance of rain is about 40 percent for Central New York. There is a better chance of rain west of I-81 and a lower chance to the east.
