October 14th, 2010 Forecast

Now: A seasonable afternoon in Central New York with temperatures near 60 degrees under bright sunshine and a few high clouds. Enjoy the rest of this afternoon because it is going to turn ugly around here over the next couple of days as a Nor'easter moves into the area bringing us plenty of rain and wind.

Tonight: Partly to mostly cloudy skies with a 20 percent chance of an isolated shower or sprinkle. Most of us should stay dry overnight. It won't be as cold as last night when Syracuse dropped to 35 degrees with some frost. Lows tonight will drop to around 41 degrees. East winds will shift from the southeast at 5 to 10 mph. The sunset tonight is at 6:25 PM.

Thursday: Increasing clouds with showers moving in by the afternoon. The chance of rain is 70 percent. Highs will be around 56 degrees with south-southeast winds 5 to 15 mph. Steadier and heavier rain is expected overnight into Friday as a Nor'easter takes over the area.

Friday: Rainy, windy, chilly and raw. The timing and exact amounts of rainfall are still uncertain. It all depends on the track of this Nor'easter. The chance of rain is currently around 90 percent. I do know that wind gusts will approach 40 mph and high temperatures will hold around 50 degrees. Stay tuned.

Saturday: There is a 40 percent chance of a leftover shower or two in the morning. Otherwise, a breezy day is on tap for Saturday with highs in the lower to mid-50s.
