October 16th and 17th, 2010 Forecast

Now: The nor'easter is sitting over Portland, Maine, this afternoon, and periods of lake enhanced rain are moving through Central New York. Temperatures are ranging from the lower 40s over higher elevations to the upper 40s in the Syracuse area. It is certainly a "raw" day outside, and these conditions will continue through the overnight hours.

Tonight: Rainy, windy, chilly and raw conditions continue. The rain will taper to scattered showers toward morning. The chance of rain tonight is about 80 percent. Lows will drop into the lower 40s in Central New York and into the upper 30s over higher elevations. Northwest winds will be sustained at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph. The sunset tonight is at 6:22 PM.

Saturday: There is a 30 percent chance of a leftover shower or two in the morning. Otherwise, just expect a cool, windy day highs in the mid-50s. Clouds will give way to sunshine in the afternoon. Winds will be out of the northwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

Sunday: Sunday should be a mostly dry day. A mix of sun and clouds is expected with a high around 57. However, there is a 20 percent chance of a lake effect shower east / southeast of Lake Ontario. It will be breezy with wind gusts 25 to 30 mph.
