October 9th and 10th, 2010 Forecast

Now: A sunny and beautiful afternoon across all of Central New York. Temperatures have risen into the lower 70s in Syracuse. It is not as windy as it was on Thursday, but winds are still gusting near 30 mph out of the west-northwest. The normal high / low for this time of year is 63 degrees / 43 degrees.

Tonight: Clouds will be on the increase as winds drop off. There is a 20 percent chance of a sprinkle overnight, but most of us will remain dry. Lows will range from 40 degrees in the North Country to near 50 degrees in Central New York. West winds 10 to 15 mph in the evening will become north 5 to 10 mph overnight. The sunset tonight is at 6:33 PM.

Saturday and Saturday Night: Some early morning cloud coverage is possible. Otherwise, bright sun develops for the rest of the day. It will be over 10 degrees cooler than on Friday, but it will still be a pleasant fall day with high temperatures near 60 degrees. Winds will be out of the north at 5 to 10 mph. Skies will be mostly clear Saturday night, allowing temperatures to drop into the mid-30s overnight with northwest winds 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest.

Sunday: Patchy frost is possible in the morning with a cold start in the 30s. Mostly sunny skies will cause it to turn warmer by the afternoon with a high around 66 degrees. Southwest winds will shift from the west at 5 to 15 mph.
