December 2nd, 2010 Forecast

The high temperature in Syracuse today was 63 degrees early this morning around 6 AM. Temperatures have now fallen into the lower to mid-30s across the area, and the rain has changed over to snow, as well as some sleet and freezing rain in spots. A Flood Watch is in effect through late tonight. A Lake Effect Snow Warning is also in effect from 7 PM tonight through 6 AM Friday for southern Jefferson County, northern Lewis County, and extreme northern Oswego County.

Tonight: Scattered flurries and much colder with a low around 27 degrees. Lake effect snow will dump 1 to 6 inches of snow north of Syracuse tonight. Winds will be out of the west-southwest 10 to 15 mph. The chance of snow tonight for CNY is 30 percent. The sunset this evening is at 4:31 PM.

Thursday: There is a 30 percent chance of a few flurries. Otherwise, a mix of sun and clouds should be seen. Lake effect snow will continue north of Syracuse, dumping another 1 to 6 inches of snow. The high temperature will be near 37 degrees. West-southwest winds 5 to 15 mph.

Friday: A few snow showers and flurries are possible. Lake effect snow will be north of Syracuse early in the day before dropping down into CNY late. The high will be around 37 degrees. Chance of snow around 40 percent.

Saturday: More lake effect snow showers are possible for CNY with some breaks of sun. The chance of snow is about 30 percent. High near 37 degrees.
