August 19th, 2010 Forecast

Now: We are seeing a decent amount of cloud cover today with some breaks of hazy sun. A spotty sprinkle is possible this afternoon, but most places will stay dry. The chance of rain is only running around 20 percent today. High temperatures will be approaching 80 degrees by the time the afternoon is finished.

Tonight: Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected. The normal low for Syracuse this time of year is 59 degrees, and it will be a seasonably cool night with low temperatures in the 54 to 59 range, except warmer near the lake. Winds will be light and variable.

Thursday: The warmth and humidity are back under a mix of sun and clouds. There is a 20 percent chance of an isolated thunderstorm late in the afternoon. Most of us should stay dry. High temperatures will range from 80 degrees near the lake to 84 degrees in Central New York and the Southern Tier. Thursday should be the warmest day of the next 7.

Friday: Early morning clouds will give way to mostly sunny skies. It will be less humid with a high around 80 degrees.

Saturday: A few clouds with a 20 percent chance of a late day thunderstorm. Expect a high temperature near 83 degrees. Saturday will be the better day of the weekend because scattered storms move in for Sunday.
