Now: It is a hazy, hot and humid afternoon across all of Central New York. Temperatures are generally in the upper 80s, except lower 80s are being seen along the Lake Ontario shore. Heat index values are around 90 degrees in many locations. It is going to keep getting hotter for the next 3 days, with temperatures forecast to be 1 degree shy of the record for all 3 days.

Tonight: Starry skies and mild. Lows will range from 57 degrees in the Catskills to 67 degrees at the Lake Ontario shore. Syracuse should drop to around 63 degrees by daybreak. West winds will become southwest overnight at 5 to 10 mph. The sunset tonight is at 7:43 PM.

Tuesday: Sunny and hot. It will also be a bit humid with dew points around 65 degrees, making it feel like it is 93 degrees in Syracuse with the forecast high of 91 degrees. Oswego and other places along the lake should hold in the mid-80s. Winds will be out of the southwest in the morning and continue to turn throughout the day, eventually becoming northwest by the evening at 5 to 15 mph. The record high for Tuesday in Syracuse is 92 degrees, set back in 1924. The UV index will be a 7, which means you can burn in about 30 minutes.

Wednesday: Continued sunny and hot with a high around 93 degrees in Syracuse. The record high is 94 degrees, set back in 1932).

Thursday: Very hot under mostly sunny skies. A few high clouds may move into the area due to Earl spinning out in the Atlantic. Expect a high near 95 degrees in Central New York. The record high is 96 degrees, set back in 1953.
