Labor Day Weekend Forecast

Now: High clouds are on the increase across Central New York this afternoon as a line of showers and thunderstorms approaches from the west. Temperatures are approaching 90 degrees again, but today will be the last hot day for a while. Highs will hold in the 60s over the weekend before warming up into the mid-70s by Labor Day.

Tonight: The line of showers and storms will arrive during the evening hours (between 8 PM and 10 PM). Once the storms move through, skies will become partly cloudy overnight. Lows will drop between 55 and 60 degrees across Central New York, except mid-60s are expected along the Lake Ontario shore. Winds will be from the west at 5 to 15 mph. The sunset tonight is at 7:36 PM.

Saturday: Windy and cooler with a few showers. Highs will hold in the mid to upper 60s all across Central New York. West winds will be sustained at 15 to 25 mph with gusts 35 to 40 mph ! Some breaks of sun may be seen in between showers. The UV Index will be a 3, which means you can burn in 55 minutes.

Sunday: Cool and breezy with lake effect rain showers developing. Highs will still hold in the mid to upper 60s. Southwest winds will be sustained at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph.

Labor Day: Turning milder under a mix of clouds and sun. A shower will be possible, but most locations will remain dry. High temperatures warm back up into the mid-70s, making for a pleasant end to the holiday weekend.
