February 1st, 2011 Forecast

All that pink, that means Winter Storm Warning
(Apologies, .3 should be -3, these are new graphics)

A very large Low pressure system will begin to move across the central US and form along the east coast. With it there will be heavy snow, ice and sleet. From the models it looks like the CNY Area will be on target for very heavy snow. As for accumulations, it looks like when this is all over totals will be exceeding a foot in most areas, with higher amounts likely to the south. Schools will likely be closed Wednesday across much of the area as the heavier amounts will fall early Wednesday and throughout the day.

Tonight: Snow after midnight. Accumulations around one inch. Lows approaching 10. East winds 5-10mph.

Tuesday/Tuesday Night: Snow. Accumulations 2-4 inches, 4-8 inches overnight. Highs near 20. Lows near 15. Northeast wind 5-10mph

Wednesday: Snow, heavy at times. Heavy accumulations possible. Highs in the lower 20s.
