First Day of Classes Monday at SUNY Oswego

The first day of classes at SUNY Oswego for the Spring 2011 semester is tomorrow. Be sure to dress in plenty of layers and warm clothing because temperatures will be around 7 below early tomorrow morning. 40 miles away in Syracuse temperatures will be near 14 below, and in the North Country temperatures will be between 20 and 30 below. No records are actually kept in Oswego, so I put the official record low from Syracuse for January 24th of 14 below, set back in 1907. This record will likely be tied or broken in Syracuse. The "warm" Lake Ontario temperature of 36 degrees will keep temperatures about 7 degrees higher in Oswego. In the afternoon, temperatures in Syracuse and Oswego will likely not get above 4 degrees before dropping down near or below zero again overnight. Well, I'm getting ready to take the 5 hour drive back up to Oswego from New Jersey, so I wish everyone a great semester !
