Tonight: An absolutely frigid night with near record low temperatures. The record low for Syracuse for January 24th is 14 below, set back in 1907. This record will likely be tied or broken, and some areas in the North Country will be as cold as 20 to 30 below. Skies will be mostly clear with light northwest winds. Monday: Remaining frigid with bright sun. High only around 4 degrees in Syracuse. Winds will be out of the east 3 to 8 mph.

Tuesday: Partly sunny in the morning, then increasing clouds in the afternoon. Not as cold with a high near 20 degrees.
