January 11th, 2011 Forecast

Tonight: Clouds and freezing drizzle will be over Central New York during the evening. They will move west overnight and skies will become partly cloudy. The low in Syracuse will drop to around 16 degrees, but it will be much colder elsewhere were skies are clearer. The North Country and higher elevations to the south and southeast will drop between 0 and 9 degrees. Northwest winds will shift from the northeast 3 to 8 mph.

Tuesday: Sun to clouds with spotty freezing drizzle in western New York. Expect a high near 27 degrees with northeast winds 3 to 8 mph. Light snow will develop late at night. 1 to 3 inches is likely by daybreak Wednesday. The chance if snow is about 70 percent Tuesday night.

Wednesday: Another 1 to 3 inches of snow is likely in Central New York between 7 AM and 5 PM. The Southern Tier and the Catskill Mountains will see higher amounts. 2 to 5 inches for Binghamton and 4 to 7 inches for Delhi by mid to late Wednesday afternoon when the snow tapers off down there. The high will be in the mid to upper 20s across the region. In Central New York, an additional 1 to 4 inches of snow is likely overnight due to lake enhancement of wrap-around snow showers. The chance of snow is around 70 percent.

Thursday: Leftover snow showers with more light accumulation possible. Otherwise, there may be some breaks of sun in the afternoon. High near 26 degrees. The chance of snow is 40 percent.
