Tonight: Lake effect snow showers and flurries developing. The coverage area will be mainly central and southern New York, from Oswego to Binghamton and the Catskills. These places should pick up an additional 1 to 4 inches of snow overnight. There will be isolated amounts of 4 to 6 inches near the Lake Ontario shore, south-southeast of Lake Ontario, and in localized intense bands across Central New York. Lows will drop to around 15 with wind chills between 0 and 7 above. Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph. The chance of snow is about 80 percent. The sunset this evening is at 4:51 PM.

Thursday: Lake effect snow showers and flurries continue southeast of Lake Ontario. An additional 1 to 2 inches is likely with isolated amounts of 2 to 4 inches. Expect a high near 23 degrees with a wind chill between 0 and 9 above. West-northwest winds 10 to 20 mph. The chance of snow is around 60 percent.

Friday: Clouds and sun with leftover flurries. High near 25 degrees. The chance of snow is only 30 percent.

Saturday: Some sun gives way to increasing clouds. Light snow is possible late from a weak storm moving in from the Midwest. The high will be near 27 degrees. The chance of snow is about 40 percent.
