Weekly Recap, January 9-15, 2011

It was a chilly week in Syracuse as we held in the lower to mid-20s the entire week with the exception of Saturday. The snow total for the week was 19.0 inches, 8.2 of which came from a coastal storm that moved up from the south on Tuesday night and Wednesday. It produced some lake effect snow on Thursday due to the cold temperatures and northwest wind flow behind it.

By the time today is over, some areas could have as much as an additional 8 inches of snow on the ground due to the heavy squalls that were coming off of Lake Ontario, especially this morning and early afternoon, moving directly through the city of Syracuse. Single-digit temperatures will be moving in tonight, and highs won't make it to 20 degrees for Martin Luther King Day. Peter Speck will have your full 7 day forecast coming up later this evening.
