Memorial Day Weekend Forecast

Syracuse reached a high of 90 degrees on Thursday, tying the record high set just last year in 2010. Today is much cooler, especially to the north of Syracuse, but a warm holiday weekend is on tap for the unofficial start of summer.

Tonight: There will still be some scattered thunderstorms around this evening. Once they taper off, expect mostly cloudy skies for the remainder of the night with areas of fog developing. It will be less humid with lows 59 to 65 degrees across the region. East winds in the evening will shift from the southeast overnight, 5 to 10 mph. The chance of rain is about 60 percent. The sunset tonight is at 8:33 PM.

Saturday: Hazy sun and clouds with scattered thunderstorms. The high will be near 82 degrees in Syracuse. Winds will out of the south at 5 to 15 mph with gusts around 20 mph. The chance of rain is about 40 percent.

Sunday: Warmer and more humid with hazy sun. There is a 30 percent chance of a thunderstorm. The high will be near 87 degrees. Winds will be from the south at 5 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 mph.

Memorial Day: Mix of sun and clouds, warm and humid. There is a 20 percent chance of an isolated thunderstorm, but the majority of us will stay dry. The high will be near 85 degrees. Winds will be out of the west-northwest at 5 to 15 mph.
