5.8 Magnitude Earthquake in Virginia

A 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck Virginia at 1:51 PM this afternoon. The center of the earthquake occurred 5 miles south-southwest of Mineral, or 38 miles northwest of Richmond. This earthquake was felt up and down the entire east coast, with reports of shaking as far north as Toronto, Canada, and Burlington, Vermont. There have been reports of cell phone outages.
