December 29th, 2011 Forecast

Tonight: Lake effect snow showers in the evening will taper off. Skies will clear overnight and it will remain cold and windy. Lows in the North Country will drop into the single digits, but elsewhere should be near 15 degrees. Wind chills will be near or below zero. Winds will be out of the west at 10 to 25 mph. The sunset this evening is at 4:37 PM.

Thursday: Clouds and sun, less wind, and not as cold. There is a 20 percent chance of a flurry late in the day. High near 30 degrees. West winds will shift from the southwest at 10 to 15 mph.

Friday: Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of rain or snow showers. High near 40 degrees.

New Year's Eve: Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of rain or snow showers. High in the upper 30s.

New Year's Day: Rain and snow showers, windy, and milder. High in the lower 40s. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

It will be somewhere on either side of 20 depending on location. Winter is finally on its way.
