Forecast Discussion: As the lake-effect snow event from this weekend ends we will see somewhat nicer weather for the first half of Christmas Eve. Towards the evening hours we are watching a weak area of low pressure which will be approaching the central New York region around dinnertime and stick around through the overnight into Christmas morning. This system will deliver a much-wanted White Christmas to most; if not all of the area. A general 1-3" of snowfall is expected to accumulate with this system which locally heavier amounts will be possible. The snow will quickly exit the region by on or before noon on Christmas leaving behind cloudy skies and "the calm before the next storm." This more potent area of low pressure will be knocking on our doorstep by Wednesday late morning/early afternoon bringing more accumulating snowfall to the region. This storm will be exiting by Friday afternoon, leaving our area with cold and cloudy conditions before another potential storm makes it way into our area for the weekend. Details are not certain on the exact impacts of the post-Christmas system as well as the potential pre-New Year's storm so stay with us for the latest on these developing situations as we move through the Christmas holiday and beyond! Most of all, happy holidays to everyone across the entire region!
