Weekly Recap, December 23-29, 2012

Syracuse tied for its latest first one inch of snow on record, which occurred on December 22nd.  But since then, just about a week later, we are nearly at our normal December snowfall !  So far this month Syracuse has received 28.8 inches of snow and our December normal is 32.7 inches.

Of course, the two winter storms this week helped put a dent in our snow deficit.  The first storm, the 26th into the 27th, gave Syracuse 12.7 inches of snow within those two days.  The second storm didn't give us quite as much, but it was another 2.6 inches on top of the 12.7 we already got.  Prior to these two winter storms, we had already received 5.4 inches this past week between the 23rd and the 25th, mainly of the lake effect variety.

Syracuse's snow total for the week was 20.7 inches.

By the end of this week, we'll likely be seeing our coldest air of the season so far. Highs may struggle to get out of the teens, especially by Friday, so be prepared to bundle up !
