Forecast Discussion: Across parts of central New York (mainly east of Lake Ontario) lake effect snow showers have persisted through much of today and will remain overnight. Heading through the overnight and into the morning commute the lake effect machine will taper off to flurries with the cold winds coming across the lake weakening. Heading through tomorrow, we are watching a weak low pressure system which will likely bring increasing clouds through the afternoon with a resurgence of mainly light snowfall to our area. With this quick moving system we are anticipating a general 1-3" inches in most spots with locally higher amounts possible in any heavier banding which sets up. Going into the day on Sunday, snow continues through much of day before tapering off to flurries in the evening. Through the weekend we are looking seasonable conditions; highs in the upper 20's to lower 30's and overnight lows in lower 20's. As we turn our attention to next week we are awaiting a much-awaited thaw from all of this bitterly cold weather with 40's making a return to our region. Stay tuned with us right here for updates through the weekend!
