The main story of last week, at least for those of us who live south of Oswego and Oneida Counties, was the cold temperatures. Remember Thursday morning ? It was 0 degrees at the airport and most of the outlying areas were below zero ! But then Friday morning felt like a completely different climate -- it was nearly 30 degrees warmer.
Now, for the folks in Oswego, Oneida, Jefferson, and Lewis Counties, the big story was the lake effect snow Tuesday night and Wednesday. Many places on the Tug Hill Plateau received a foot of snow or more. Syracuse, on the other hand, only received 5.4 inches of new snow for the week.
Most of the remaining snow pack will be melted away this week. Temperatures are going to be mild in the 40s all week, starting Tuesday. By next Sunday, temperatures are going to be well into the 50s, perhaps even near 60 degrees if all goes right ! If you like mild weather, this week is for you.
