February 11th, 2013 Forecast

Forecast Discussion: A low pressure system currently over the Midwest will begin affecting the region overnight with light snowfall before it changes to a wintry mix towards dawn. Through the day this wintry mix will shift towards all rain as warmer air surges into our region with temperatures topping out around the 40 degree mark. As the cold front from this system approaches the region Monday night things will cool down to around freezing which may make for a few slick spots out there. As we go into Tuesday snow showers will be the main feature after the cold front moves through with some possible lake-effect picking up. However, this lake effect event will not be anything overwhelmingly substantial with clearing skies by later in the day Tuesday. As we move into Wednesday we will see mainly sunny skies with a few scattered light flurries possible across central New York.
