April 1st, 2013 Forecast
Forecast Discussion: Central New York has seen absolutely gorgeous weather the last few days prior to an of low pressure from the Midwest bringing rain just in time for Easter Sunday. This rain will slowly transition to wintry mix during the overnight as colder air is pushed into the region behind the passing cold front with this latest system. Lake effect snows will develop and persist overnight Monday into Tuesday morning as colder air returns during the day tomorrow. Some areas could see up to or over 6" of snow; the snow could be heavy at times locally. As arctic air pushes back in, it will be frigid outside with highs in the lower 30's with overnight lows in the 20's heading into Wednesday morning. Be sure to bundle up in layers both Monday and Tuesday as the wind chill factor will make venturing out very rough at times! Wednesday should bring some minor relief as temperatures get into the mid 30's which will also help to melt some of the snowfall. Beyond then the area will warm up again towards the end of the week with highs in the 40's and 50's returning.
