March 5th, 2013 Forecast

Stalled low pressure off the coast of Maine will finally begin to move eastward on Wednesday, and it looks as though we could see some peaks of sunshine for tomorrow afternoon. Our attention will turn to low pressure that will form over northern Texas tomorrow and rapidly move eastward towards Virginia and the east coast. The most recent NAM, GFS and ECMWF model runs keep the low pressure and its associated precipitation south of central New York. However, the NAM and GFS do hint some scattered snow showers over the area Thursday morning as the storm strengthens off the coast. High pressure will begin to build in for the beginning of the weekend, along with a nice warm up in temperature.
