April started off on a cold, snowy note here in central New York. Syracuse picked up 12" of snow during the first week of April, bringing the seasonal total to 114.7", which is only 5.7" below normal. I believe that will be it for the snow at this point as the weather pattern looks much more spring-like over the next couple of weeks.
Tuesday and Wednesday were downright cold last week with highs only in the low and mid 30s. On top of that, the winds were quite strong, knocking those wind chills back into the teens and 20s. The end of the week wasn't too bad with highs in the mid 50s Thursday and in the mid 40s Friday and Saturday. The April sunshine is equivalent to what we see in late August and early September, so those mid 40s felt warmer as long as you were in the sun.
