December 20th, 2010 Forecast

Tonight: Becoming mostly cloudy. Lake effect snow showers and flurries will fire up south and southeast of Lake Ontario. 1 to 3 inches is possible near Lake Ontario, but area-wide only around 1 inch is expected. Lows will drop into the lower teens with west winds 3 to 8 mph. The chance of snow tonight is about 40 percent. The sunset this evening is at 4:31 PM.

Monday: Plenty of lake effect clouds. There will be more lake effect snow showers and flurries south and southeast of Lake Ontario. These snow showers will extend into Central New York, the Finger Lakes, and the Southern Tier. Trace to 2 inches is likely during the day. Highs will be in the mid to upper 20s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph. The chance of snow is around 40 percent.

Tuesday: Clouds with breaks of sun. There is still a 30 percent chance of some flurries or snow showers, mostly in Syracuse and points west. High near 28 degrees.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of snow showers and flurries. High around 30 degrees.
