Tonight: Lake effect snow showers continue south and southeast of Lake Ontario. Trace to 3 inches is expected with isolated spots of 4 inches. Otherwise, mostly cloudy and seasonably cold with a low around 26 degrees. Winds will be out of the northwest at 5 to 10 mph. The chance of snow is about 70 percent. The sunset tonight is at 4:30 PM.

Saturday: Lake effect snow showers continue south and southeast of Lake Ontario. Another trace to 3 inches is expected. Otherwise, look for breaks of sun with a few flurries area-wide. The high will be near 34 degrees. Winds will be out of the northwest at 10 to 15 mph. The chance of snow is around 70 percent.

Sunday: Polar plunge day for me at Oneida Lake. Lake effect snow showers continue south and southeast of Lake Ontario. It will be cloudy, breezy and cold with a high around 34 degrees. Winds will be out of the northwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. The chance of snow is up to 90 percent.

Monday: Lake effect snow showers continue south and southeast of Lake Ontario. Otherwise, cloudy and breezy with a high near 33 degrees. The chance of snow is 70 percent.
