Weekly Recap, February 17-23, 2013

Last week was a changeable week temperature-wise across central New York.  High temperatures ranged from the teens to the 40s.  Otherwise, we saw pretty typical February weather for around here.

Syracuse picked up its most snow for the week on Thursday 2/21.  Snow showers just set up over Syracuse for basically the entire day and we got almost 5 inches out of it.  For northern areas, they got their most snow in Wednesday 2/20 as lake effect squalls set up over Oswego, Lewis, and Oneida Counties.

For the week, Syracuse picked up a fresh 7.4 inches of snow.  Looking ahead to this week, the possibility exists for at least some snow nearly everyday, starting Tuesday.  However, elevation will play a major role because temperatures will be borderline freezing most of the time.  The higher elevation areas will likely get snow and the lower elevation areas will get a mixed bag of rain and snow.  We'll keep an eye on it for you through the week right here at CNY Weather.
