December 11th and 12th, 2010 Forecast

It was a frigid start to your Friday morning. This morning's lows: Saranac Lake -18, Watertown -4, Syracuse 3, Binghamton 6, Fulton 8. Don't worry, it will be a bit milder for the weekend, but a nor'easter will take over for the second half of it.

Tonight: Light snow will continue this evening before tapering overnight. An additional coating to 1 inch is possible. Not as cold with a low around 27 degrees. Winds will start off out of the south 10 to 20 mph before shifting from the southwest 5 to 15 mph. The chance of snow this evening is about 40 percent. The sunset this evening is at 4:29 PM.

Saturday: Early morning cloud coverage will give way to a mix of sun and clouds by midday. Pleasant with a high near 37 degrees. Saturday will definitely be the best half of the weekend. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph become east 5 to 10 mph late.

Sunday: A wintery mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain will begin before sunrise Sunday. This will quickly changeover to plain rain as temperatures climb to around 40 degrees. The chance of precipitation is about 90 percent. The rain will change back over to snow Sunday night.

Monday: Lake effect snow develops again. Windy and much colder with an early morning high near 24 degrees before temperatures slowly fall into the upper teens.
