Forecast Discussion: This coming weekend will bring a continued snowy trend as a low pressure which passed to our southeast has kicked up a decent lake response off of Lake Ontario giving parts of central New York some snowfall today. This will be the case for Saturday night through Sunday as well with more snow courtesy of a weak clipper system that will pass through dropping anywhere from a trace to a few inches of new snowfall. This coming week will bring a substantial change from what we have called the norm for this winter. A number of weak clipper systems will be coming down from Canada and ride through our area giving us bursts of snow with possible lake effect snow events in between anywhere from Monday through Wednesday evening. Each of these weak storms may give the central New York region anywhere from a dusting to a few inches of snow with some lake effect snowfall adding on to that. The other main theme for this week will be the Arctic air surging in behind each of these aforementioned clipper systems; holding temperatures below the 20 degree mark Monday through Thursday which even for this time of year is still 10-15 degrees below normal. Be sure to dress in layers as you head out to school and work! Heading towards the end of the week we are closely monitoring the potential for a Nor'easter to develop well south and east of our area which may bring additional snowfall to the area. Stay tuned for updates through the weekend and the coming week!
